But first, a note from Paula:

I am familiar with the impact that burnout can have both personally and professionally.  I burned out during the last year of my law practice, and during this time, I felt exhausted, stuck, cynical (even by lawyer standards!), disconnected and disengaged.  It took me a long time to figure out what was happening, and I want something different for you and those you lead.

I’ve had the privilege of being trained by the world’s leading experts in resilience.  My evidence-based programs are based on skills that have been shown to reduce stress-related problems like anxiety and burnout and increase perseverance, well-being and performance.  Developing my own stress resilience practice based on these skills helped me to finally recover from burnout and prevent it from happening again.  Here’s to sustainable success!

Attorney and practice group chair, Cindy Walden, talks about the benefits of Paula’s resilience program!

BURNOUT PREVENTION TRAINING

“Burnout is the biggest occupational hazard of the 21st century. It’s a phenomenon that has been increasing everywhere – growing like a virus.” Drs. Christina Maslach and Michael Leiter

There is a burnout problem in the workplace, and it’s costing companies millions of dollars in lost productivity, disengagement, and health insurance costs.  Here are just some statistics:

  • Two-thirds of Americans are not engaged at work
  • Globally, that number rises to 87%
  • New research suggests that more than 50% of physicians are burned out, up from already high levels of 33-40% (and that impacts patient safety and quality of care!)
  • 96% of senior leaders report feeling burned out to some degree; 1/3 describe their burnout as extreme
  • In the United States, 60-65% of bankers age 25-44 report some level of burnout
  • A recent study among IT professionals showed that 81% of entry level to mid-level and 65% of senior level respondents said that stress on the job is causing them to check out other job opportunities.

RESILIENCE TRAINING

Learn the “secret sauce” of resilience from one of the experts!

Busy professionals deal with challenge, adversity, change, and stress on a daily basis, yet many don’t have the tools they need to withstand these challenges resiliently.  Paula is a leader in the field of resilience training, having taught resiliency skills to thousands in Europe, Asia, Australia and throughout the United States.  Paula was honored to be part of the University of Pennsylvania’s training team, which taught resilience skills to over 20,000 drill sergeants and soldiers in the U.S. Army as part of the Army’s Comprehensive Soldier and Family Fitness (CSF2) program.

Resilience is your capacity for stress-related growth.  Decades of research shows that resilience is made up of a bundle of skills that can be taught and practiced.  These skills are supported by over 20 years of research from the University of Pennsylvania and field-tested by over 20,000 drill sergeants and soldiers.
